Dear Companion:

Ten Keys to better Companionship

Speak to your Companions. There is nothing more heart-warming than a cheerful word of greeting.

Smile – It is infectious; pass it on! Also, it takes 72 muscles to frown and only 14 to smile.

Call your York Rite brethren by name. The sweetest music to anyone’s ears is the sound of his own name.

Be Friendly. If you would have friends, you must be a friend.

Be Cordial. Speak and act as if everything you do is a genuine pleasure.

Be Interested in people. You can like anybody, if you try.

Be Generous with praise - cautious with criticism.

Be Considerate of the feelings of others. It will be appreciated.

Be Thoughtful of the opinions of others. There are three sides to a

controversy-yours, the other fellows, and the right one.

Be ever Ready to Serve. What counts most in life is what we do for others.

On Feb. 22, 2005 I had the pleasure to officiate at the merger of Houghton RAC and Walden RAC at the Masonic Apartments in Concord. I congratulate the two Chapters on a wonderful evening. I especially thank George Herbolsheimer IV, Robert Krom, and Ed Adams. All the necessary records were in order, the dinner was good, and the Companionship was great. I have a positive feeling on the future of Houghton – Walden Royal Arch Chapter.

What you can do - possibilities? Every Chapter needs officers. Please consider being a line officer, the electrician, collation chairman, entertainment chairman, any committee chairman or member, or public relations chairman. There are jobs left undone in many Royal Arch Chapters because of a lack of volunteers. Please step up to the plate and volunteer.

Yours fraternally,

M\ E\ Charles A. O’Wril, Jr.
