Dear Companion:

The Letter “E”

Someone has advanced the opinion that the letter “E” is the most unfortunate character in the English alphabet, because it is always out of cash, forever in debt, never out of danger, in hell all the time, and never been in Indiana, Ohio or California.

But we call his attention to the fact that “E” has doubled up in Freemasonry, is never in war, and always in Peace. It is the beginning of existence, the commencement of ease, and the end of trouble. Without it there would be no meat, no life, no heaven. It is the center of honesty; makes love perfect, and without it there would be no editors and no news.

The Month of September is almost upon us, and I have received my first Chapter communication of the new capitular year. I hope that all of the Chapters have a plan formulated for the coming year, and are ready to begin anew. Let us start the year with enthusiasm and love for our Fraternity. After the progress I have seen in membership and Chapter activity during the last year, I am looking forward to our continued progress and growth.

I thank Ex\Ted W. Bitomski, his Committee, and his wife Linda for the efforts on our York Rite Family day, Sunday August 1, 2004. The weather kept the attendance low, but the enthusiasm was high.

September 1 - Your Grand High Priest will be presiding over a merger in New Bedford, Massachusetts, of Adoniram-Fair Haven Chapter and Wareham Chapter to be called Adoniram Chapter. I will be received at 7:30 P.M. The installation of the Officers of Adoniram Chapter will follow.

September 15 – Your Grand High Priest will be making a Fraternal Visit to Amherst Royal Arch Chapter.

Until next month I remain,

Yours fraternally,

M\E\ Charles A. O’Wril, Jr., Grand High Priest
