Dear Companion:

 

No you are not having deja vu! I am repeating the first paragraph of last Month, because it is important to our Blue Lodges and our Chapters.

 

Concurrence of Grand Chapter Day with Grand Lodge’s “One Day Class”

 

As you are likely aware, our Grand Lodge will hold a “one day class” on Saturday, November 1, 2003, enabling participants to become Master Masons in one day. Since our Grand Chapter Degree Team has begun actually conferring the Chapter degrees on Grand Chapter Day, instead of simply exemplifying them on that occasion, Grand Chapter Day this year will offer a very convenient opportunity for members of the Grand Lodge one-day class to also become Royal Arch Masons in one day. Grand Chapter Day this year is Tuesday, December 9, 2003.

For a candidate to be eligible to take the Chapter Degrees on Grand Chapter Day, that candidate’s application must have received a unanimously favorable vote at a regular or special meeting of a constituent chapter prior to Grand Chapter Day. (Any vote conducted prior to November 1, 2003 on the application of a member of the one-day class must have been made contingent upon that member’s actually becoming a Master Mason as part of the one-day class.)

The concurrence of Grand Chapter Day with Grand Lodge’s “One Day Class” provides us with a terrific opportunity to extend Masonic light while we augment the rolls of Chapter Masonry in Massachusetts. Let’s work together with our Blue Lodges to make the most of this very fortunate opportunity.

I want to thank M\E\John M. MacNeil, companion Jeffrey Arnold, and Companion Donald Milley. They are the Medical Team for the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Massachusetts, and will be in attendance for all Grand Chapter Sessions. As one who has attended many meetings where medical assistance was needed for our brethren, it is assuring that assistance is available to our Companions.

A grateful thank you is due to R\E\Michael A. Brown, and R\E\Peter J. Andrews for being the Co-Chairmen for our one Day classes in December 2003 and April 2004. They have sent communications to the Secretaries and the District Deputy Grand High Priests, stating how applications of candidates for the one Day Class on December 9, 2003 will be handled. They have also sent Applications to the Candidates for the Grand Master’s One Day Class November 1, 2003.

Ex\ John I Donahue, Ex\ Wayne W. Anderton, R\E\James F. Johnson, and I had the honor to travel to Rockport to present a Fifty Year High Priest Certificate to Ex\Charles L. Flygare of Ipswich-Ferson Chapter. Ex\Flygare is 91 years young.

Sept. 30, 2003 – The Grand High Priest will be in attendance at the Alliance Committee of the Grand Lodge.

Oct. 7-10, 2003 - The Grand High Priest will be in attendance at the Annual Grand Chapter session of Ohio.

Oct 11, 2003 - The Grand High Priest will be in attendance at the Red Cross of Constanine Annual Meeting.

Oct 17-22, 2003 - The Grand High Priest will be in attendance at The Tri State Festival in Nevada.

Oct. 23,2003 - The Grand High Priest will be in attendance at the Installation of Ipswich-Ferson Chapter.

Oct. 24-27 - The Grand High Priest will be in attendance at the Annual Convocation of the Grand Commandery of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

 

December 9, 20003 – A reminder that the Annual Meeting of The Grand Royal Arch Chapter will meet in Boston, MA and housing will be at the Boston Radisson Hotel.
